A living tradition, the 30th september 2023!
On September 30, 2023, the village of L’Etivaz will be celebrating the herds who, after a summer on the mountain pastures, will be heading back to the barns for the winter. Proudly decked out with flowers and their finest bells, the cows will pass in procession to the applause of the public, and for the delight of the cheesemakers and herdsmen.
You are invited to come and take part in the désalpe in L’Etivaz, an event which combines Swiss mountain traditions with local specialities and joie de vivre. There will be a large variety of entertainments provided. In particular, you’ll be able to taste the first wheels of L’Etivaz PDO cheese produced during the summer of 2023 and fresh from the maturing cellars. Do not hesitate to contact us. We hope to have the pleasure of sharing the désalpe with you!
